The illusion of what is beauty, who has beauty, why they have that beauty, and who decided on the defintion of beauty mistifies me.

At what point was it defined what is beautiful? Why was it not written down and passed on down from each generation so we all know how to strive for beauty and so we know when we have acheived it. At least, that way, so many magazines wouldn't have to bother trying to get us all to follow their 'rules' to equalling beauty.

How can someone say "No, you're not beautiful enough" when no body really knows what beauty is? Is it having a all over tan? Is it having long, shiny hair? Is it smooth skin, with no spots? Or is it big thighs? Maybe extra rolls on your stomach?

I'm gonna jump out on a limb and assume that you wouldn't say the last two equal the definition of beauty. Am I right? I might sound sure of myself but it's the damn truth.

Whether you are male or female, when you see someone who is a tad on the larger side, you wouldn't call them beautiful, would you? But if you saw a thin girl, with the lovely hair etc. you would become jealous of her 'beauty'. For having what you don't.

"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder"

What does that mean exactly? Does it mean that if you see beauty in other things, there will beauty in you?

I think that everyone has their own little things that make them beautiful, each in our own. If we were to all abide by the unspoken rules of beauty, we would be all the same. Most of us would be unhappy with living by someone else's rules.

Beauty is what you want it to be.
